The Residual Seal Force Tester from Genesis is a measuring device to assist in the determination of seal integrity. Developed as a spot-checking tool for our line of Westcappers, the Residual Seal Force Tester allows simple measurement of the residual seal force of a serum vial closure.

Simple in operation, the Residual Seal Force Tester uses a manually driven electronic digital force gauge to press on the top of a closure with a special closure anvil. When this externally applied compressive force just exceeds the residual compressive force in the rubber stopper, the aluminum cap begins to move downward. The operator detects this first downward movement through the 20-X Microscope, stops applying force, and reads the force on the digital gauge.

The basic tester can test any normal serum container up to one liter capacity. Each cap size and cap type requires an anvil designed to match the cap contours. Flip-Off® caps can be tested with the plastic button on or off. A different anvil is used for each condition. One anvil is supplied with the tester; others are available at additional cost
